Sadly a train crash at Adamuz
39 dead at the moment, hopefully that won't toll wont increase

Very sad. It said on the Spanish papers the stretch of line where it happened had recently had maintenance work done on it. A passenger on the Iryo train said it started shuddering before the train derailed.

Absolutely devasting for all involved.

One of the Government ministers' speaking on TV last night said, if it had been just the first train partially derailing then there probably would have been no injuries at all, but the tragic timing of the second train going in the opposite direction meant it stood no chance to avoid the derailed carriages.
