you should be able to cut your own hair Graham ,you have had years of practice

Yes , and for many years I did just that .
But , it's only possible to give oneself a very short haircut . Shorter than I want it , at this time .
Remember, even a hairdresser can only cut what they see.
It's the back of the head , that becomes a challenge.
