Latest Government Announcements - Coronavirus

#1

Post: # 4455Post Carl »

A few developments today.

Children under 14
From April 27, children under 14 will be allowed to leave home but only to accompany an adult with whom they coexist to visit the supermarket, pharmacy or bank. The Government have stressed that the restrictions have not been relaxed and that children are not still not allowed to go out for a walk or to a park, and that visiting a supermarket, pharmacy or bank are allowed under the State of Alarm. The accompanying adult must guarantee that hygiene and distancing measures are complied.

As a side note to the above, children between 14 - 17 are apparently classed as adults and therefore they have always been allowed to leave home to go to supermarket, pharmacy or bank on their own.

Employment and Taxation
A total of 30 new measures have been announced covering employment and taxation. I won't list them all here, but you can read them by clicking on this link https://www.rtve.es/noticias/20200421/g ... 2484.shtml

One measure that stood out for me was recommending extending teleworking for a further 2 months. This seems to be an indication that Government are keen to keep people off the streets and to work from home for the forseeable future.

VAT
VAT on Spanish produced medical products supplied to public, non-profit organisations and hospitals will be reduced to zero.

VAT on digital magazines, books and newspapers will be reduced to 4%.
