Road Closures - Tour of Valencia Cycle Race - 7 February

The Tour of Valenica Cycle Race will be in the area next Friday and this will affect roads in the region, including Torrevieja and surrounding areas

Here the main points leading to the tour's arrival in Torrevieja:

• Stage 3 starts in Orihuela City and follows a 175km route around the area to Torrevieja

• Riders will leave Orihuela City at 12:12 - heading through Benferri into Murcia

• Riders will return to Alicante Province

• Estimated to reach Bigastro at 13:57

• Riders then take CV-920 to Jacrilla, Benejuzar and Rafal before turning off for Dolore and Catral

• Riders then head to San Isidro and Albatera

• Estimated at 14:27 to take CV-873 mountain road to Hondon de los Frailes and continue to Hondon de los Nieves

• Rider will then head to N-325 to return to Vega Baja

• Estimated at 16:06 riders will reach CV-920 roundabout at Rojales

• At 16:07 riders will reach Benijofar, heading up Calle Federico Garcia Lorca

• Estimated at 16:08 riders will arrive Quesada roundabout on CV-905

• Riders will take CV-905 to Torrevieja

Specifics for Torrevieja:

Once in Torrevieja town centre they will turn down Calle Orihuela (est 16:25) and then take Calle Ramon Gallud before reaching Avenida Doctor Gregorio Maranon to head to the finish line at the junction between Avenida Desiderio Rodriguez and Calle Ramon Rubial.

Torrevieja Town hall have issued notice that roads affected by the race will be shut from 15:00 - 16:30. Drivers will not be allowed onto those roads during these times and parked cars on those roads will be removed from 11:00. The road closures will affect the CV-905 from the San Luis roundabout and the route into and around the town centre.

Avenida Desiderio Rodriguez will be closed from 07:00 on the day of the race between Calle Ramon Rubial and Avenida de Pinoso to allow the finish line posts to be erected. These roads will be reopened at 18:30.
