The bar in ciudad quesada known has JR’s. Has closed down. Well. To be honest the beer was rubbish and food was -0/10 and was in need of serious refurbishment. I would say invest and clean it up but then with the bands that’s the money pit so its a case of finding a new watering hole.

J.R's has changed hands many times in the 19 years that I've lived here .
It's potentially a very good business , and hopefully , it won't lay empty for too long .
I've played at this venue many times, with various bands over the years.
The problem for any incoming tenant, is that, under Spanish law - they will be liable for any outstanding debt .

Has the law changed then Freddo ?
I thought the same applies to businesse's as housing.
That any debt outstanding, became the responsibility of a new tenant / owner.
Please enlighten me .

No expert but I'd have thought for a commercial property outstanding debts would be attached to the owner not a new tenant looking to start a new business.

It's probably fair to say that most business failures will leave debts behind, quite possibly substantial, and if a potential new tenant were faced with clearing those many properties could become unlettable.

JR club is closed because someone, alegedly has scarpered with all the money. Rent, staff wages, electric etc money and worse still (if it could get any worse) people's deposits for xmas lunch

It has never been a law that all debts registered against the property pass to the new buyer, for a start utility bills remain with the person who is named on the contract and are non enfocable on the new owner unless they take over the existing contract
That's the reason you employ a legal team to make sure any debts are paid from the sale of a property
