Logic ?

As a Musician , I'm a member of several local Musical Artiste's sites , here on the South Costa Blanca.
I fully understand, and sympathise with local entertainers here , who depend on performing for a living , and haven't earned anything since March 13th.

But , I'm a bit puzzled , about the latest trend .

Many performers are advertising in these very sites , for donations , and some have set up "GoFundMe" appeals.

It seems strange to me , as to why an Entertainer would ask for money on a closed group of Entertainers, who are in the same financial situation ?

The lockdown has had a serious impact on the venues and performers alike .
I would have thought they would be better putting these requests on their f.b. page , so that the General Public ( and their supporters ) can see it .

And thank you for excluding me from this ailment .
I noticed it straight away , when it started appearing .
It's a bit like asking the beggar sitting outside Mercadona, for a handout .

Many have posted on Facebook by way of a joint appeal set up by Stevie Spit.

And being a fellow musician I donated generously to what I considered a very worthy cause and because the vast majority are my friends and would not hesitate to do the same for me.

I wasn't referring to the fund set up by Stevie Spit , JamesB.
That is very admirable of him . And, he's a very sincere , genuine person, who is always ready to help .

My point was that outwith this - other individuals are independently ( of Stevie ), asking people ( other entertainers basically) to contribute funds "directly" to them - nobody else !
That was the point of my thread .

Forgive me, I don't know the 'ins and outs' of the entertainment industry here, but am I correct to assume that all these entertainers would be "autonomos" ? If so, would they not be receiving a basic income from the Government ?

Hi Admin.
Yes,the vast majority of them (not all) are Autonomo .
But , from what I understand , they still have to pay their Autonomo.

They are entitled to €600 (approx) a month , Which basically leaves them €300 a month to live on .
The ones that freeze their Autonomo , are still waiting for payment .
Not forthcoming , so far .
