At least these plane seat plastic seat surrounds , would stop any overweight person in the next seat , encroaching into your space.
In February, I flew back to Alicante from Frankfurt, I had a middle seat , and felt like a sandwich.
2 "golightly" people sitting either side of me, both overlapping. .
Nice idea, but when things eventually get back to normal the airlines that are left wont have the funds for these additional measures, they will be struggling to finance their present situation and regain the trust of passengers regarding the safety of flying together, thats if we can afford the foreseen price increases that will be made

What Easyjet have been discussing may suit you then as you as someone will not be sat next to you if the decision is made that the middle seats are left empty in planes. See topic viewtopic.php?f=9&t=716
Mr Ryanair was not a fan of the idea and said his airline would not adopt these measures and went on further to say "idiotic" social distancing rules will keep the company out of action until well after the coronavirus crisis. However, now in an interview with the Financial Times Mr Ryanair has said that if the Irish Government impose such restrictions, the Irish Government either pays for the empty seat or his planes will not be flying. I suppose it will be heartwarming to many that for once Mr Ryanair would not increase seat prices to cover the loss of revenue of the middle seat, but I am sure Irish taxpayers will not be happy.

Your totally right. The overall concept seems to be there, its just the practicalities of its use in an emergency at present do not make it suitable.
It was initially designed by an engineer back in 2010 for watching football, and sales probably failed to take off, so getting it back out in the media in 2020 does get people talking about it once again.
Even the Plane Seat Plastic Hood would probably not be suitable in an emergency, trying to egress the row of seats for passengers would not be easy. I do actually wonder how hygenic it would be as well, unless they are regularly cleaned and disinfected.

Got a cert?...ok for bars , restaurants, offices, factories......normality!
Test...clear..ok...test fail...isolate....when possible vaccinate...stop this craziness!!!!

Send me a copy of the design of this health certificate and I'll run up a few copies. Apply to me, with a small remuneration, and you get your own personalised certificate!
As to plane journeys, I always thought that the circulation of the air and pressurisation on a plane meant that if someone sneezed on the front row, then everyone up to the back row could potentially be infected. Social distancing means nothing on a plane, which is surely why one person with a nut allergy stops the sale of nuts on the whole plane?
