Blood Tests At Quiron Hospital Torrevieja

Does anyone have any recent experience of attending Quiron for a blood test ? Is there specific hours, process to follow etc. A Google search returned some information, but that was from a couple of years back and may now be outdated.

I did have an impromptu blood test at Quiron last year, but that was mid-afternoon following a consultant's appointment, as opposed to just attending the hospital solely for a blood test. At that time the staff were packed up ready to leave at 4pm.

We normally get a referral from our doctor and then take that to the reception at the Quiron.
You get a ticket with a number from the machine after pressing 'analytics' :
You sit and wait for your number to show on the screen along with with the number of the window you have to go to.
Take your doctors referral if you have one and your medical insurance card if you have one.
You wlll then be given a ticket with a number which you take round to the blood testing office and wait for your number to come up on the screen.
This is how it's done with private medical insurance but I don't know it works just walking off the street.

That's how works with us. Sometimes our doctor will send us to the blood clinic in Torrevieja town centre.

Blood tests are normally taken in the morning and the advice is not to eat or drink anything beforehand.

Finally went yesterday.

Standing room only in the waiting room, plus the airconditioning was not working. My initials went up and down the waiting list to be called, as those with pre-arranged appointments were being inserted into the waiting list to match their appointment time. Probably waited 30 - 45 minutes to be called, so not to bad.

On arrival I went to the main reception and was dealt with there, but I noticed that the Analysis Dept. had a separate hospital entrance with it's own reception, so maybe I did not need to go to the main reception ?

When I had blood taken previously it was near the consultancy rooms, not in the Analysis Dept. so got to see another side of the hospital.

Yes that other entrance is by the ambulance station which effectively divides the hospital.

There is another entrance at the A + E department which also gives access to the hospital

The entrance that you use depends on where you manage to park your flipping car.

Sometimes when a specialist wants a blood test he will give you date and time but you still have to go to the main reception where they will give you a little ticket with your initials on.

I always take my Kindle whereas my wife takes a book.

She had to see a specialist last week and I went with her and unfortunately name notification sound on the monitors were not working so we couldn't read our respective reading material for fear of missing her initials, but being the gentleman that I am, I volunteered to stare at screen while she read her book. But she fell asleep anyway with no notification sounds to keep her awake.
