Getting a car.

I've never had the need to have a car at our Spanish house, but having retired from our business and now full-time here, the Mrs and I are getting on in years and so would like to get mobile again. I have changed my license to a Spanish one. I have run Range Rovers for many years and would like a Spanish LHD one, however, after noticing a glut of 4x4s, I wondered why. I hear there is an eco-sticker scheme in play these days, so my question is. What are the implications of this on my quest for a vehicle?

The main thing with diesel is that it has to be from 2015/16 reg to comply with the Euro 6 emissions. Looking at 2015/16 second-hand Range Rover they are in the region of €31/32K

It is becoming clearer now. Do we think that is why there is a glut of 4x4?
What happens to the cars that don't qualify for the sticker I wonder?
Are these sellers just waiting for a person not au fait with the rules, (Like myself)
Do most people have these stickers now?

You can continue to drive the vehicle but just not into any of the designated zones in town centres mostly with 50,000 citizens

Hi Bee, after further inquiries, I have found that the stickers are not compulsory but only for designated areas. I've been told that Torrevieja "front" and some streets that run inland from it will be the zones. I never park down there so no difference to me at all. I now think it's just a money-making exercise as wether the vehicles that have high emissions are in those zones or not, the so harmful gasses still go up/out into the air for us all to breath. We are now thinking that we will go ahead with looking for the next Edenmobile.

I don't think I could live without a car. It is the convenience of it and especially in the heat waiting around for buses or if you have to go somewhere or be somewhere in a hurry. I hope you find something you like.
