Can't see it being a problem for the vast majority of people.

I would imagine any delays in the issuing of the ETIAS will be due to incorrect information submitted by the applicant, or the applicant has some type of marker against their name for previous misdemeanour(s) or overstaying if renewing in 3 years after the scheme come in.

I expect I am wrong, but I would be surprised if as per the article ETIAS is launched in the middle of Summer 2024. I cannot imagine they would want to risk launching the system at the busiest time of the year.

But will it be ready by the summer of 2024! How many times has the launch date been postponed.

France has already stated the ETIA/EES systems will not be introduced until after the 2024 summer Olympics. I'm not expecting the new system to go live in 2024.
