YIPPEE!!!

Re: YIPPEE!!!
For someone of a reasonably young age for the England Manager position he comes across as being extremely serious and cautious at all times. Am I saying he is negative or just he is not one to take risks for fear of the consequences ? Sven and Fabio were probably of similar character.Brian Deacon wrote: 18 Dec 2022 15:38 Gareth Southgate has decided to remain as England manager. We can look forward to more failure from a man who is simply too negative to succeed.
Interesting to hear a football pundit discussing his England future yesterday morning. Apparently as England Manager Southgate had managed to unite players when they meet up. Apparently under the more recent previous managers players would not mix or socialise with players from other clubs at training or even more specifically there would be a North South club divide even when sitting at tables at meal times in the canteen.
I doubt if many will argue that he was extremely lucky to be appointed England Manager in the first place on the back of very little club managerial experience in the game, but some how he has got England to 2 World Cup semi's and 1 Euro final.

He has indeed but given his current squad of players, in my view he has underperformed.
Certainly the Euro final was thrown away by sitting back in the second half.
I would like to see a more flamboyant manager, a break from the grey norm.

Or did Italy change tactics and step up a gear?Brian Deacon wrote: 19 Dec 2022 09:08 Certainly the Euro final was thrown away by sitting back in the second half.
And which 'more flamboyant manager' would you replace Southgate with?
