I suppose it was only a matter of time once the National, Regional and Local Governments started to implement measures to mitigate the threat of the virus that the publics mind would turn to "fill your trolleys full".
I only went out this morning for something that I had seen in a Lidl's leaflet so I wasn't looking to do a routine shop, but the Lidls on the N332 at Playa Flamenca and the one at La Zenia were unusally, and extremely, busy for a Friday.
Just an indication of the buying frenzy, the N332 store's shelves were completely bear where the toilet rolls should have been, as was where the dried dog food should be.
At the La Zenia store one woman's trolley was stacked so high that she probably had the equivalent of two trolley loads in one. Most of her shopping consisted of pasta and toilet rolls.
Bread in both stores seemed plentiful though.
