Anyone know if the Xmas morning La Zenia Beach party is on this year?

Thanks reddragon. Is there any regs that actually stop it this year unlike last year? The Carols in the Square were on in the Square this year so presumably as the Beach is not out of bounds there shouldn't be a problem.

The only things mentioned as taking place on the coast, so far, are switching on the lights (tonight) and the Santa and 3 Kings parades.
Maybe it will take place but without any official participation.

There was some reason why the Just Brass (?) band moved to Playa de Glea, Campoamor. In the back of my mind the reasoning was either the sheer numbers of people on the beach at La Zenia or the beach bar concessionaire brought in their own band for the occasion - but then again neither of those reasons may be the right reason.

Slight thread drift, but related, Orihuela has decided not to extended the current beach bar concessionaire's contract so it finishes at the end of this year.

On another thread drift and while we are down that way I see where the Council says they hope to reopen the disputed cliff walk between La Caleta and Aguamarina. The Council is currently complying with the Court Order to rebuild the wall blocking entry.

This issue just rumbles on and has done for more than 20 years. What I could never understand is why, if this section of land belonged to the homeowners, why when this development was built the builder left the openings at either end of the development allowing access to the public to walk across the homeowners land, or why the walled gardens of the individual properties did not extend to the cliff edge if that land belonged to the properties (I think these properties have access front and rear, so not having access to the property from the cliff side would not be an issue).
