As the current restrictions mean that restaurants need to close at 5pm, some of those that normally only open in the evening are now open during the day and people may not have realised.

One of our favourite restaurants is Sands Bistro at Avenido de Purismo 1 in Torrevieja, which is now doing a set menu during the day at the moment, https://www.facebook.com/SandsBistroTorrevieja/.

Dave and Karen, mein host and the owners, have been operating this English style restaurant for a couple of decades now. The restaurant serves delicious food, good quality, and well presented in a small restaurant that is covid compliant.

If you have not been before, give it a try, you will not be disappointed. If you are a regular and did not know they are now open during the day, please try and visit.

Been there many times and can vouch for the recommendation above. And yes, many restaurants who didn't open during the day before are now doing so. Daytime is the new nightime and many are now doing home deliveries.
Some have completely closed until the end of the month.
We were at Chistophers yesterday at lunchtime with friends and we were the only four people in there. Heartbreaking.
And of course that not only applies to restaurants but also to bars who usually have entertainment in the evenings ... the entertainment is now normally between 2 and 5 pm.

Some of the Chinese restaurants still seem to have their lights on in their establishments way past 5pm, are restaurants still allowed to do takeaways/home deliveries only ?

Yes, Ace of Spice in the La Fuente CC are open from 1.30 pm to 9 pm for take away and home delivery only.
