Acoustic plasterboards?

With our quad on dream hills 1 not having the best soundproofing I am wondering if anyone has had experience of trying to improve their soundproofing?

Acoustic plasterboards sound like a possible solution but before I go any further I thought it might be helpful to ask if anyone has tried to improve their own soundproofing, what did they use and how were the results?

Acoustic boards can be used with a measure of some success. I would use two layers (cross bonded) with a skim plaster finish. You should consider gluing them rather than mechanical fixing. Mechanical fixing does not help with the thermal value of the wall (if any) or the transmission of sound. Boards may come in size 2.435 x 1.2 x 12mm. I don't know if they are available in Spain. You could also consider an insulated thermal board (if available)

Have a look in Leroy Merlin they have several densities of sound insulation sheeting there. On our urb a couple of people have battened the dividing wall, sound insulation between the battens and replasterboarded. They consider it was worth it

I remember long discussions on fixing the noise problem between party walls. Stowie's solution was usually the most recommended "muffler" although it meant reducing your room size.

It would be good if you could only find some way of insulating the ceiling to stop the the noise from the upstairs neighbours doing the clog dance when they come home in the early hours of the morning. There must be cavities of some sort in those ceilings for electrics .

Thanks for all your comments. I'll look further into stowie39's suggestion at Leroy Merlin.

I should add that because I have just acquired a new puppy I am conscious that she will be very yappy and to pre-empt any bad feelings between me and my neighbours I thought some soundproofing might be a good way forward all round!

The acoustic plasterboards are blue (well they are in the UK).
Warning, these boards are heavy.

I have used them along with insulation behind, and they do a very good job.
