I would say it is much safer to make a conviction today than 30 or so years ago
The advances in DNA and other sciences make it virtually impossible to make a mistake compared to then
It's a travesty with this man as probably with many others wrongly convicted , but that's how it goes
I hope they compensate him generously for all those lost years, but i still think the death penalty should be reinstated for certain individuals, especially @astards like Rudakubana

just because the USA could not possibly get anything wrong does not mean it is the same in the UK..

I guess if someone killed three kids at a dance class, there were witnesses, the murder weapon was found and the perpetrator was arrested in the area.
Then there’s a fair chance that the conviction would be more than a 1000% safe and the perpetrator has no further purpose being on this earth, so the death penalty would be a less than just punishment. So unless we are prepared to tie each of his limbs to four vehicles and tear the bastard limb from limb, which would see justice served, hanging would have to do.

Yes, when you consider that more people have been murdered by murderers released from prison than 'innocent' (allegedly) people hanged.

Good comment, but then life should mean life, with no chance of parole, as in America in many cases.

Personally I think with that sentence it's better to just put them down and get it over with.
