I can remember during Covid that Playa del Cura was shut till 7am and spaces were marked out with rope.

The people started gathering at 5am and of course the queue by 7am nearly reached La Mata and when the whistle went it was remeniscent of a big department store opening it's doors on sales day with 100% off of everything. !!

It was like Genghis Khans hordes and many reached their chosen space with missing articles dropped in their sheer panic to get that space one metre from the sea.

This was well documented on Facebook.

I read the article in Informacion and it said this has always been the way on El Cura Beach and is nothing new. Users have always accepted being elbow to elbow on the beach without a cross word being exchanged.
