Takes: 2 hours 10 minutes - 2 hours 40 minutes
Serves: 6

No nutritional information available.

Ingredients

- 6 apples, cored and sliced
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon

For the crumble topping:

- 90g oats
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp self-raising flour
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 2 tbsp butter
- 50g pecans, almonds or walnuts, chopped
- Pinch of nutmeg

Method

1. Fold two long strips of foil together and place in the slow cooker in a cross formation.

2. Toss the apple in the lemon juice and place in a baking dish that will fit the slow cooker. Sprinkle the sugar and cinnamon over the apples.

3. For the crumble topping, mix the oats, sugar, flour and cinnamon together in a bowl. Rub in the butter until it forms clumps, then sprinkle over the apples. Top with the nuts and nutmeg.

4. Lower the baking dish into the slow cooker and cover with a clean kitchen towel then add the lid. Cook on a high setting for 2 - 2½ hours or until the apples are cooked through. Lift carefully out of the slow cooker using the foil and serve with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce, if liked.
