Torrevieja Hospital - Latest Information (Coronavirus)

Diario Informacion has once again (today) been able to gain some rough patient numbers at the hospital, albeit not actual numbers as the Generalitat Valencia has imposed restrictions on such information being released by the Torrevieja Health Service (Ribera Salud).

- 15 coronavirus patients are on mechancial respirators in ICU
- Around 100 coronavirus patients with mild or moderate symptoms are being treated as in-patients
- 30 patients were discharged last week

The problem with the above figures is that it is difficult to establish whether the situation is improving without knowing how many how many positive cases there has been, the number of patients that have recovered or have sadly died.

Diario Informacion also report that the hospital continues to operate under pressure and that there is a a real concern that there will be a second wave of cases as, has been mentioned on this forum in recent days, residents from outside of the region still continue to travel to this area despite the restrictions on movement in place.

As a side note, Quiron Salud Torrevieja have released today a video of its first coronavirus patients leaving the hospital which suggests that they are also treating an undisclosed number of patients.
