Under the instruction of the Generalitat Valencia no coronavirus figures (cases/deaths/recovered) are being released by the Torrevieja Health Service (Ribera Salud), however some information has been obtained by the respected media outlet Diario Informacion which gives an insight into the reality of the situation that Torrevieja Hospital is currently dealing with.

• Hospital staffing numbers have increased by 97 from 1,100

• Day to day staff activity has been reorganised around coronavirus

• 17 coronavirus patients on respirators in ICU - ICU nearly full

• Second ICU with 6 beds prepared

• Third ICU accomodates patients seriously ill but not coronavirus related

• 80 coronavirus patients admitted to hospital rooms

• One floor of hospital dedicated to coronavirus patients

..from personal experience, a wonderful establishment with wonderful staff...

They will do their utmost to answer the demand, and by not engaging in the numbers game beloved by the media and panic merchants, I applaud them!!!
