Warmest day of the year so far for the Vega Baja. Certainly felt alot warmer in Torrevieja and on the Orihuela Costa than the temperatures recorded.

Spare a thought for travellers at Valencia Airport where they broke their hottest day on record with 46.8°C - an increase of 3.4°C on their previous highest temperature in 1986.

Soon be September, then it's all downhill from there.

Roll on September….most people would say that the best weather is off season. I love being in Spain at any time of the year apart from July and August when it’s extremely hot. It’s absolutely beautiful here in Ireland, north or south is stunning but come October when all the leaves have fallen and the days are dull and dark, that’s when Spain is at its best. Last winter was a mild one and geraniums etc., we’re still in bloom but the moment frost hit, it was mush.
Spain is perfect off season even when it rains.

Yes October's my favourite month, menos gente y menos calor.

Of course nights are starting to draw in and there's more chance of rain.

I have family coming out in October, and one has been here before and on has never been, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

The 23rd October looks to be a very good day.
