Somewhere to park close to alicante airport

I am taking a family member to alicante airport next week to catch a flight home and am picking up another relative there about 5 hours later
I dont want to drive all the way back home just to go back again and was wondering if there is somewhere close to the airport i could stop and wait ?
I know i could park at the airport for less than 10 euros but i want to take a packed lunch and my own drink in a cooler box and have this while i am waiting, and i know the underground parking is stifling at the moment and i doubt if the indoor or outdoor cafes would appreciate me sitting there for 5 hours with my sandwiches
I had a look last time i was coming home from the airport and cannot remember seeing anywhere i could park up this way

Thanks S, thats an option, i have never been there before
I was thinking of somewhere a bit closer to the airport, it doesnt have to be a restaurant or bar , a place to park the car would be fine , i could just chill with my coolbox and wait listening to some music in the car

Gran Alicant has plenty of spaces to park or you could park up in the car park and walk over the bridge to the viewing area and take your coolbox with you

Another place i have never been , can you turn in there from the other side of the road ?

Thanks V, another place i haven't been before but a good option
To be honest i prefer to stay close to the airport because of the excessive traffic and a chance of getting lost , and i want to be there when i am called to save them waiting
I was even thinking of taking that other road at the airport where the private parking companies are, i am sure i have seen a couple of pull ins just before or after the entrances when i have used them going back to the UK
I even remember one car parked up an embankment covered in dust, obviously someone had left it there to avoid parking fees

I still think you are better off parking in the car park and walking over the bridge to the viewing area
