Good question Bee.

In none of the articles I have read does it say where the boat originated (or believed originated) from, only where it was found sinking, so I wonder how long it had been at sea.

The other thing is why tow the sinking boat to Torrevieja when there were closer ports to Cabo de Palos ?

Must have been a difficult decision for the 2 crew to call for assistance given what they were carrying onboard. At the time fearing from their lives from the sea, but now probably (after sometime in prison) fearing for their lives from those they were delivering the drug for/to.

The crew were taken to Cartagena but it was decided that given its location the boat was towed to Torrevieja being the nearest port.
