Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 15 minutes
Serves: Makes 15

If made as 15 scones, provides 91 cals, 3g fat (of which 1g saturates), 0.5g sugar and 0.2g salt per scone.

Ingredients

- 250g (8oz) self-raising wholewheat flour
- 50g (2oz) margarine
- 125ml (4fl oz) milk
- ¼ tsp mixed seeds

Method

1. Preheat the oven to 220°C/Fan 200°C/Gas Mark 7.

2. In a large bowl add the flour and margarine and rub together until it resembles breadcrumbs.

3. Gradually add the milk until a soft dough is formed.

4. On a lightly floured surface, lightly knead the dough until smooth and roll out until approximately 2 cm (1 in) thick. Cut out 15 scones using a 5 cm (2 in) cutter.

5. Place on a lined baking sheet, brush the tops with milk to glaze and sprinkle with the mixed seeds.

6. Bake for 13 - 15 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.
