There will be cuts everywhere, including pensions as they keep mentioning the triple lock, pay freezes, increases in tax , food and utility , etc etc to pay back the two trillion ever increasing debt the buffoons have accrued
But god forbid the government have to have their wages frozen, nothing will change for them , they remain in their ivory towers

Fortunately the pay review is something outside of the control of the MPs, with the recommendation being put forward by an independent body - Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority.

The timing of the announcement and amount simply seems to be a consequence of a number of factors coming together at the same time during a difficult year.

The noticeable % increase in Public Sector Growth has probably occurred because of the expenditure associated with Covid19.

It does leave a bad taste in the mouth, and probably for the MPs as well because the backlash will be aimed at them even though it is outside of their control.

They can refuse to accept it, but as I understand they will still get paid it. I believe it is then up to the individual MPs what they do with the pay rise.

Surely the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority is something the Govt set up, nothing is free from the Govt like that, they could change the whole thing if they wanted too.

They could always do what Dave Nellist did when he was an MP.
He took the average working weekly wage and the excess he donated to charity.
If there is a will there us a way.
