It is so painful to see my shares take a hammering over the months, today has been bad as well, I also have HSBC shares amoung others, 25 year low today. I did invest a bit more in another company today, half price at the moment.

Depending on what sectors you have shares in will probably depend on how soon the share prices recover, although to what extent the share prices recover too is anyones guess at the moment.

I used to deal in stocks and shares years ago through the halifax and got bitten when one of the companies i had invested in had their shares suspended, so a drop in price isnt the only risk
To add insult to injury i still get a reminder of the shares i used to hold on my yearly online bank statements , something i wish to forget

I remember watching the news a couple of weeks ago and apple were worth more than the entire FTSE 100 companies! Over two trillion at the time. The banks will be bad for a while I guess, then another potential scandal this week... The money you get from a bank account is non existent but of course I am minus a lot of money at the moment so even under the mattress for many years would have seen me better off! I am going on the theory that all will be well in quite a few years time when I hang my spurs up and put even more money in.
