Fred has contacted me as you are both experiencing problems exchanging PMs. I have used a 'test account' and have been unable to find any issues, however that is not to say there may not be an issue.

In your Private Messages section in your User Control Panel do you have any numbers in brackets against your 'Outbox' ? Can you see the messages you have sent to freddo in your 'Outbox' or 'Sent Messages'' folders ?
