When someone has handcuffs on, on the floor front down, four of you, there is no requirement to put your knee on their necks. He may of had heart trouble but if he could breath and was not handled the way he was, he would still be here today. Riots in UK, statues pulled down etc, the people should be locked up for 2 years and with enough police, tears gas, rubber bullets etc the problem would go away, politicians need to get tougher, tell them what is going to happen in advance, if they are up for it turn up in London and receive it. Graffiti, try to pull statures down get locked up. I can't reply to any losers so don't waste your time. Some on here lead some sad lives with nothing better to do than pick apart every sentence and start an argument, talk to the Not all people just one I have noticed so far not that I read everything, rubber bullets and murdering someone are two different things. Thanks for that..i repeat if the way people protest upsets you and not why they are protesting then you are part of the problem,this whole racism question is more than just one death of yet another black man in police custody it's about centuries of racism,and if you have never been at the receiving end of it then you do not have a clue and like the rest of the aging misfits.on here you look to bully into silence anyone who doesn't buy into your bile,and just for your information disecting each sentence makes the discussion easy to follow.

We are sorry that some black people were traded for cheap labour by both us and their fellow blacks, centuries ago...It was wrong and they should have left them in their African homes|

I too grew up dirt poor,..but I do not blame the British aristocracy or society for that...(but there maybe a case)?..

So...what do you want us to do ,AOS and Stowie ...what do you want now...apart from dumping statues...what do you really want for black lives,...financial compensation, like Windrush, free housing like Grenfell, priority for job applications, go to the top of hospital waiting lists,..lighter sentences for criminality, positive weighting for exam results and prioritised entrance to Universities???

I am offended by the trashing of my ancestors and the constant demands for apologies and compensation, and priority treatment....I am beginning to look upon black people as unwanted intruders to my community, abusers of my country's hospitality and tolerance.

You also need to look at this from a police officers point of view, especially one in the US
Its bad enough in the UK, with the knife culture, terrorists and people kicking and punching the police , there is no respect for them anymore and they are there to protect the public, even the bad apples
Its a different ball game in the US,nearly everyone is armed, including the criminals, and they dont have time to react to defend themselves when a bullet is heading towards their head, at least you have a fighting chance with a knife attack
I cannot imagine the pressure they are under every day, knowing they could be the next , and what about their families and children
You can say it is their choice to work as a police officer, ok thats true, but thank god there are people willing to put their lives at risk to serve the public, i am sure its not just for the money, i can think of safer ways to earn a wage
I know i keep repeating myself but Floyd was a convicted dangerous criminal high on crystal meth, in the act of committing yet another crime
Nobody saw in detail what led up to his arrest , what was shown predominently was the knee on his kneck
Yes that officer overstepped the mark and caused his death, i know its indefensible , i can only assume because of the crystal meth, which makes people a lot stronger than they already are,and being such a big and muscular man anyway, and highly dangerous, he was not able to control him with just handcuffs, and employed the method they are trained in to restrain difficult cases
Either that or was it he just enjoyed inflicting pain on him and wanted him dead, i know which sounds more feasible
Anyway he is now held up as a martyr for the cause all over the world, and people are making him out to be a saint , a pillar of society and a great loss, when he was none of these things
But that seems to be the way the world is now, put criminals on a pedestal and kick the old and weak in the teeth, or dentures whatever the case

I too have agreed with his points on racism.

But I also defend that history must be learnt, both good and bad.

And 21st century judgements and views should not be placed on 16th century figures.
