At the start because we didn’t leave home, we were unaware what was going on in the outside world. Lots was going on as we now know. I usually have my hair blow dried every week but during lockdown this was impossible. Actually, it wasn’t. My then hairdresser told me last May when she reopened that had I ‘phoned her, she would have done my hair. It seems that many small businesses continued working all the way along. I heard of pubs that people were going to through the back door. My daughter told me of people she knew who continued to socialise. Some people made it patently clear that they had no intention of locking themselves in. I considered them to be brave but foolish. We saw what happened when thousands of people descended onto beaches all around the U.K. we tuned in faithfully everyday to hear Boris and his medical advisers who updated us with their latest findings. We watched Donald Trump doing open air conferences outside the White House being rude to Chinese journalists and leading everyone to believe that Covid 19 was being over exaggerated. It was entertaining to say the least but not taking the pandemic serious was his downfall.
NOBODY had a clue and most of us did their best to adhere to the rules apart from the famous trip that Dominic Cummings hit the headlines about. Well, Dominic turned out to be a “hell hath no fury” guy. We should be protected from sick, sad and vindictive people like him. All this business about so called parties in Downing Street is attributable to him. None of us needed to know and all he did was to cause enormous pain and hurt to so many people who suffered and lost loved ones during the lockdown. I haven’t worked since I got married at 24 but I know people who did work and it was common practice to bring cakes and buns into the office when there was a birthday. There must be hundreds of people working in number 10 and during the heat wave, I imagine many of them worked outside enjoying the sun. I’m not trying to make excuses for what went on but looking back, it was a terribly difficult time and only eased when we knew there was a vaccination ready to be given. Everyone was champing at the bit to get the appointment and the second one too. Better still, we ever got a booster and many vulnerable people are getting a 4th one.
I’m sick and fed up with the waste of money being spent on enquiries. A lot of good it’s going to do any of us. I want the country to spend money helping people to heat their homes and feed their families. I’d also like to see the country become financially secure. We need to pay people a decent wage. Times passed very quickly and so many people spend their lives fighting to keep their heads above water financially.
I don’t think we can be sure that any of our political parties could make any difference if they were in power. Our economy has hit what we all knew and expected , a massive increase in prices on EVERYTHING . Food, electric, building materials and I’d expect cars too. It’s too bad that we are finally able to get our lives back only to find that we can’t afford to live.
Some good sense, at last!!

I went on holiday every year, I didn't really care or worry about it. Gyms were closed so there was one person using the one in my house. I had two kids in my house who would of had a mental breakdown if I tried to lock them up. How about a son not seeing his girlfriend for God knows how long, not mixing households... You always need to put the care of your mind first and that is what I done for the then 6 or 7 people in my house then, down to three here now. I would of rather of been dead than to of locked myself up, I just didn't care and now I treat everything as 2019, no masks etc. I think BJ wanted heard immunity from the beginning but was forced to lock down.

It was great when nobody was travelling as we got fantastic airfares and no crowds in the Airports. We went to Spain last Easter for something under €400 for 4 people. This year it's that for one person.
