I feel your pain. I have given up trying to fathom out the Town Hall electronic office. I think you have to get a cl@ve. You could try calling into the Town Hall to the Registro General y Ventanilla Única PROP (Registry Office) . You can get a cl@ve from SUMA who I find are the easiest to deal with. Follow this link to make an appointment and select cl@ve
https://www.suma.es/cita_previa.xhtml click on Book an Appointment select cl@ve from the dropdown menu and select a date and office for your appointment.

If you want to do it electronically, you need a 'Digital Certificate', which is correctly called an SSL Certificate. To get one i had to go to the PROP Office in the town square with a handful of docs and they give you a 16 digit number. You then log onto the website address on the form and enter the 16 digit number, it then allows you to download a file, the SSL Certificate. You then have to install the Certificate into the Broiwser yo uare using, by going to the Browsers settings menu and using the Certificate Installer, selecting all the defaults.
What happens then is when you attempt to select a menu item on the Torrevieja town Hall site, a pop up appears listing the certificate and you select it to login.
I also like to point out i worked in IT Support and Project Management 30 years and it took me an hour to figure out how to install the Certificate. I even rang my son, who also works in IT Network and Server Support for a large multinational company, if he knew, his reply was "They are a ******* nightmare, dad, ive done about 50, but ive never managed to do it the same way twice " . How they expect people with no IT background to do it beats me.
I dont know about obtaining a cl@ve password. After the debacle with the SSL Certificate i was disinclined to poke about any further

There is an article in Informacion about the chaotic electronic Town Hall site. Especially the waiting times for an appointment and nobody answering the phones. I did read at the start that most of the computers in the local admin offices were not compatible with the new electronic service.

Hola Bee
We finally got it sorted and got our padron....... but it was a worry !!!!!.
We got to the building well ahead of our appointment and there was already a line of about 25 people waiting for the office to open, which was strange as everybody should have a time allocated appointment.
The office opened and a lady appeared asking what every body what they wanted at the office.
We showed the lady at the front door proof of the appointment minus the conformation.
She turned everybody away but 4 of us as they never had appointments !!! There were lots of people arguing and shouting at the women at the entrance door.
She looked at our appointment sheet and showed us into a corridor, and we had to fill in another form !!
There were only two members of staff processing the padrons.I gave all the required documents to a man, and he told me to wait. After 15 minutes, he came back with an updated padron and that was it.overall, it took about 25 minutes from start to finish. What a farce......
Notice.... There is no mention of the new padron being valid for only 3 months

Dear Lord they love the paperwork

Great you finally got it. Do I take it the confirmation never materialised? As for the 3 months. Isn't it normal that if you need it for anything official that you have to have one dated within the previous 3 months. I would hate to have to be going through that appointments system in a hurry. You can't blame people for being angry.

As long as you have an in date padron you can do official things with it.
NO, I never got my conformation but I took the screenshot of the appointment time and date I received when it said they would confirm the appointment and of course they didn't. The thing is that at the moment, you cant get an appointment within a few days and you have to wait at least 4-6 weeks to get an appointment.
I know people who dont live in Torrevieja but still reside outside Torrevieja and got their renewal padron just by turning up at their local townhall and waiting 10 minutes and they got it.
