Wrecked!! Will they ever get it back together. All that's fine Retire1Day but what about the parking? I just had a photo from my sisters driving down from the Airport in the rain. They reckon the weather followed them from Ireland

As I understand it the underground car park and promenade should be completed by the end of this year, but that picture seems to suggest that the progress seen in recent weeks has slowed down. Maybe it is a timing thing with the summer vacations reducing the manpower available ?

As a construction engineer I would suggest that six months would be unachieavable for U.K. constructors but Spanish workers? Not a chance.

I think what I read was the end of 2024 for car park which would be a more likely timeline.

Perhaps I was thinking of the timelines when it was first announced, before the delay to start of the works. In my mind I have the end of 2024 for when everything should be completed and the leisure units/facilities opened.

I parked along the wall on this day when I took the picture, had to park right towards the end in the daytime and hardly any spaces left. In May I parked roughly over a mile out in a residential road and walked in for the excercise, trouble at the moment is the heat for me and not being used to it will have me looking like I have done a marathon by the time I would reach the seafront!

I was told over the weekend that some of the underground car parks now seems to have more spaces reserved by businesses for their employees because of the redevelopment of the outdoor car park for the leisure development. That is okay during the week when these businesses are functioning, but what about the weekend when people are struggling to find a place to park and these spaces lie empty, if not being used by those staff members or their family and friends?

I did double check and a briefing to the media earlier this year had the underground parking work being completed by end of this year, but this article is now suggesting Spring 2024. The same briefing had all redevelopment work complete and the leisure facilities open by Christmas 2024.

So not before Christmas 2024 at the moment.
