I had my place on the del blanca for 20 years BB,
And to be honest im glad im out now.
Even with the crap weather here, it's where i prefer to be,
Closer to family.
I do miss friends i had in Spain, but i can go whenever i like without the hastle of ownership.

I had the same view.
Seeing grandchildren makes up for what comes with old age.

Yes,that's something that we discuss from time to time, but the children and grandchildren come out on a regular basis, so it`s not so bad, and besides we have certain commitments here in Spain that we're loathe to give up up.

I know its only a flight away but its in my DNA to be a protector,
I feel selfish to leave family when i have the ability to assist in so many ways.

Well my five children are all in their mid forties to mid fifties, the grandchildren are in their 20's to 30's and the great grandchildren are even younger, so if anyone is in need of assisitance,it's me.

The same story for a lot of us Vino. Family ties at home are too strong. I do more rearing on my grandchildren than I ever did with my own children. Lets hope my influence is a good one. I love seeing them change and mature as they grow. They are children of their time and so knowledgeable and up with world events compared to my 50s/60s childhood.

Yes we came back for grandchildren (sorry children lol) we don't regret it at all, loved our time in Spain but still go over a few times a year, its the best of both worlds for us.

wendy, spot on, we do the same, without the hassle of ownership,
The money from the sale of spain went in to the holiday fund,
Just did the Mediterranean cruise stopping in Cartajena,Cadiz,Valencia etc.
Not obligated to go to the same place every holiday now.😁
