So, it is in los Balconies then ?.
This character is quite an unsavoury person.
When he had the Judges Chamber , a couple of my Irish entertainer friends refused to play there .
Despite being offered very good fees , for doing so.
This was back in the early to mid 2000's , when the area was booming .

Thanks
Bee, although I think there was a large element of luck involved.

Just happened to be waiting at a junction in La Florida yesterday, and John Gilligan was strolling alone along the pavement.
It reminded me what I was going to post a few days ago, Gilligan appeared in Court in Torrevieja earlier this week and was given a 2 year suspended sentence plus fine.
https://www.breakingnews.ie/ireland/joh ... 22790.html
The Spanish media went into a bit more detail about the charges. Putting the cannabis charge to one side, he and his co-accused (their trial still ongoing) were buying up prescription only drugs from pharmacies in the Torrevieja area and then smuggling them out of the Country. The prosecution quoted a figure of 20,000 tablets involved - no mention of how he and the others were able to get the pharmacies to part with these prescription only tablets.

We find that different pharmacies have different rules regarding prescription drugs depending on their location.
Some will ask for identification for the same prescription only drug whilst others don't bother and yes we can get a certain prescription drug without presciption.
In fact my wife obtained some yesterday.

People were amazed he got off so lightly. If it was an Irish Court you can get a max of 14yrs for that crime. There are always ways and means of getting the tablets if you grease the right hand and it doesn't necessarily have to be a Pharmacy who supplies them where quantitues like that are concerned.

Captured another drug lord in the Torrevieja/Orihuela Costa. This guy used to own The Judges Chambers pub and has left a trail of misery in his wake over the years. In particular the cold blooded assassination of a journalist who called him out on his crimes.
There is a video clip of his arrest in the article.

Just two things to say B
The more the merrier , biting the dust that is
And what an apt name for a pub for a criminal , not
It is more the judges court now

One of his co-accused was 'Fat' Tony Armstrong. Anyone remember a diner called "Fat Tony's" and it's location ?
I cannot remember anything of that name near the Judges Chamber (maybe it was before I arrived in Spain) as mentioned in the article below.
