Latest update
Re: Latest update
If I can get travel insurance to visit Spain, I will book for November and happily quarantine on my return.
I have already started to do my Christmas shopping online and hope to have all my gifts sorted soon. Once that’s out of the way, I don’t have to worry about finding Christmas presents for anyone when I am sitting about for 2 weeks.
A few weeks in the sun is well worth the quarantine period and all being well that’s what we will be doing!
Home now, back garden grass cut so we will finish the front and possibly the dude today. ( good exercise) Lots of shrubs and trees to be tidied up and our time will be put to good use. The heat here is incredible! I thought I would be able to relax without perspiration pouring off me but no such luck. I’m sure it won’t be for long
Now, we are no longer permitted to have any more than 6 people in our homes. Such a disappointment as we have a group of 10 where we entertain almost every Saturday night and really enjoy it. Now, that’s knocked on the head while our university students in Belfast are behaving abominably and going out at night in massive gatherings and drinking through the night into the early morning. They are causing havoc with their noise and antisocial behaviour not to mention the fact that COVID19 will be out there with them happily enjoying spreading the virus to all and sundry.
Now, I am sitting with my husband in quarantine for 2 weeks not allowed to go anywhere. People aren’t allowed to visit friends and family but all these young people are ignoring the pandemic by choice and living their lives the way they choose.
Isn’t it time for the powers to be to forget the rules and stop implementing more and more instructions? Isn’t it time for the world to move forward, go to work, party, shop, holiday and put covid 19 behind us. Allow those who are in danger to protect themselves using all the guidelines given and no more statistics and news. I am fed up with it. We have spent 6 months of our lives hiding from this virus and now it is time to take action.

COVID 19 is here to stay, and the sooner we accept that, and get on with our lives as normal, the better. 'Spanish' flu is still around and killing people one hundred years later; it's a good job we didn't implement furlough and the rule of six since 1918!

Nice to hear your detailed account of life. I can work from home but I have to attend meetings with clients now and again and I don't think my company would be too happy if I am out of action for too many weeks in quarantine.
Maybe this will change by Christmas with 6 max but I will have a least 7 for Xmas day, maybe 8. The 8th is 83 and if he caught covid I think it might finish him off so I will give him the option if he wants to be number 8. I did quarantine but I know others who don't when they come back. No one phones you either. I think you can go shopping if you can't get anyone else to do it.
Hard to keep my youngest son in but at uni now, even before then he was at the beach with another 20, pubs, restaurants, went to a house full of students last Saturday, he must of had it already, think my other son caught it in March, went to Hammersmith, London to a music gig. He definitely had it! Couldn't get tests then, don't think you can now either!

Just spotted this from a couple of days ago. I'm surprised the story hasn't been picked up more as it is a little more evidence that the concepts of a vaccine, or herd immunity are wishful thinking. It implies that COVID is very similar to colds and flu, ie that it mutates enough over time to render any antibodies from a previous infection as useless.
