This is a message for those who criticise the use of the mask imposed by authorities in Catalonia and Balearic Islands.
Spanish Government has shown today the worst figures of infected since May!!!, which means that due to the fact that the measures took are not working, new ones must be taken.
Today´s figures; 257 new positives in one day
Cataluña; 500 new positives in just one week.
If we don´t take any action there could be a new national lockdown, and our economy can not afford it again.

I was at Zenia Boulevard a couple of days ago, everyone I saw was wearing masks with the exception of 1 family, a Scottish family, not that it makes any difference where they are from, but the UK media have widely covered the use of masks in Spain.

If they live here, they know the rules and if they have travelled to Spain then they would have needed to wear a mask at some point. If there was a medical reason why they couldn't wear masks I understand, but I doubt a complete family would be exempt for medical reasons or if they were why would they all risk being out at the same time.

My Opinion:

Any new spikes will tend to occur in densely populated areas, like Madrid, or the larger tourist spots like Barcelona. The cons are firstly the optimum temperature for the virus to grow has been shown to be 4 Centigrade. Like most viruses, it falls apart at high temperatures, so the further south you go the less likely a spike. I suggest northern europe - UK, Belgium, Northern Germany, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania - will get the spikes, when the winter closes in.

Second , consider this: A few years ago, the drugs industry persuaded many government that Bird Flu (H51N) was going to sweep round the world, and sold millions of doses of vaccine. The Uk government bought 60 million doses at £10 a dose, so Astra Zeneca made £600m out the Uk govt alone. Covid19 is the biggest money making opportunity to present itself to the drugs industry for a generation. There are 180 laborotories round the world racing to make a vaccine, because potentially the world is going to need say 5 billion doses at say £10 a dose - thats FIFTY BILLION QUID !!

Anyone that thinks the drugs industry is going to miss this opportunity to get a slice of that pie is delusional. I GUARANTEE we will have a choice of vaccines within 6 months. Once 80% of the population is immune, herd immunity kicks , covid will vanish and we can all get back to normal. And the drugs industry will be celebrating their windfall.

Are you sure about that. Everything I have seen and read states that temperature makes no difference. Thats why even now Florida has just set a new single day infection record.
I can find nothing that states that and what evidence there is proves the opposite, USA, Brazil India where now at the height of summer cases are increasing.

Again I have seen nothing to support that.
Only today Oxford Uni stated they will have no idea if the trial vaccine is effective until early next year.
