This will certainly change the Torrevieja skyline to the south - 9 towers blocks with each having up to 23 floors.

Its a prime building plot but it looks as if it may never happen. .. Hopefully.

The Mayor back in June was taking about the speeding up the construction of holidays homes, and as you say it is a prime building plot, so I am sure some developer is lurking in the background and would not surprise me if it is the Torrevieja based TM Gruppo.

Although if you are in 1 of the 9 towers on the 23rd floor you would hope that your view was guaranteed.

I read about this. Its a joke.

First the plot of land is 22,000 sq/ft. Its also zoned for "Urban A" . Thats means you can only build a ground floor, a first floor and an attic. At most that would amount to 50,000 sq/ft of living space. They arent allowed to build tower blocks, so the number of 90,000 sq/ft is a fantasy

Bet you a weeks pension it never happens.

I think if I remember correctly there has been a similar situation to this in recent years, firstline at Punta Prima, so there may be a precedent for allowing such a development. I believe at Punta Prima there was restrictions on that land that construction should not exceed the height of the surrounding buildings.

The firstline developments by TM Grupo 'Sea Senses' development plus the others by Taylor Woodrow/Taylor Wimpey clearly exceed the height of the surrounding buildings by several floors. I cannot remember which developer it was, but I am sure that one of the developers were issued with a 'stop' notice at one point as they had added an additional floor when building and had to obtain retrospective planning permission, which miraculously was granted.
