Mitigate the Risk
Social distancing..1 metre or 2?
Why not allow 1 metre where needed like factory assembly lines, bars and restaurants, and encourage 2 metres wherever practical?
Mitigate the risk without "blowing the bloody doors off!!"

Re: Mitigate the Risk
A blanket 1 metre increases the risk..operating a 2 metre distance where practical, mitigates THAT risk..
...and gives the economy a fighting chance......

What has been apparent throughout this pandemic is if you give people 2 options, such as 1 metre or 2 metres, it leads to confusion as to what is acceptable. If you use a term like 'wherever practical', individuals will have a different understanding as to what that may mean.Francisco wrote: 12 Jun 2020 07:18 Social distancing..1 metre or 2?

And of course without specific markings to look at, everyone's interpretation as to what is a metre is different.

I understand that, Carl, but surely if a goodly proportion of the population applied 2 metres where they could it would be more beneficial than everybody adopting 1 metre?Carl wrote: 12 Jun 2020 11:44

I actually believe that people are now ingrained with the idea of social distancing, and are actively resistant to relaxations.
I certainly will keep my distance where I can, even if 1 metre is brought in....
