So do white lives - don't they?
All lives matter, one way or another, to someone.
However, if a movement was started called White Lives Matter, then that would probably labelled racist.
Where's the fairness and justice in that?

I wondered how long it would be before the middle aged expats came out bitching whats going on isn't just about 1 mans death on the streets and due to technology is there for the world to see this has been going on for 100s of years the world hasn't gone mad...the world has been mad for centuries allowing this to continue unabated,you can go back to the slavers,you can go back to the days of Dr Martin luther king and Malcolm x,the windrush scandal,the KKK murders deaths in custody at the hands of the police in the USA it cannot be ignored any longer.

The UK is one of the most tolerant countries in europe, welcoming all with open arms, and benefits

Bwcause it isn't just about a white cop once again killing a black person....it is about centuries of discrimination, being treated like second class citizens....go back to the blacks in south africa it has been going on for years and years...George floyd is just the straw that broke the camels back.What happened to the policewoman was tragic and should never have happened but pales into insignificance compared to the struggles of the black man.
How can defending a great politician and leader be bitching, why should i or anybody accept gangs of ferals ripping down statues and defacing monuments that have stood for hundreds of years, a second churchill statue was defiled today

We've been analysing him ( or trying to) for some time now .
We've ruled out the "glue sniffing" , and eliminated the "magic mushrooms".
The unanimous verdict reached is that the poor fella lives in a state of "perpetual bewilderment".

The point is that history hasnt changed nor should it.
Churchill, Nelson, Washington etc are historical figures of importance to their countries and as a whole benefited their homeland. And as such we need to be aware of them and teach our children and not expunge them from future generations education or learning.

However what is banning gone with the wind going to acheive. It is a story representive of the era it portrays, it is wrong to pretend it never happened just because slavery is portrayed.
Think of all films made about civil war or WW11. Should they all be banned for racism, to blacks, Jews, Slavs. Or is the UK only concerned with black racism.

Where does it end. Destroy the Colesseum in Rome because Italians threw slaves to the lions there.

History remains, good and bad. Putting 2020 values onto somebody who lived in 1720 is wrong. Education is key.

Banning of comedy shows is also wrong because of white man blacking up, not for racism but for comedic effect (Ali G, Matt Lucas), just like Godfrey Cambridge or Eddie Murphy have done the other way round, but they arent banned.

Whilst we are "Assuming" i "Assume" that you are one of the people so outraged by the pulling down of a slavers statue but are quite happy to see refugees drown in the Med.
