Virus started earlier than stated

Now experts are saying the virus may have started as early as last autumn
Someone using yahoo comments posted this below but never mentioned where the article came from
I did find this from a uk newspaper
https://uk.yahoo.com/news/satellite-ima ... 44017.html
Also an article about it being stated by the professor it did not start in the wet market and why

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/articl ... -from.html

One of China's top health officials, Prof Gao Fu, director-general of Beijing's Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, has admitted that the coronavirus was not found in animal samples at the Wuhan market and that the market was not the original source of the outbreak. This confirms earlier studies by scientists from South China University of Technology which found that the virus “probably originated in a laboratory in Wuhan”. The South China Morning Post dated the first Covid-19 case to 17 November which means the original outbreak may have started as early as October. The UK had about 500,000 visitors from China last year. Wuhan alone has 11m people. If the original outbreak was in mid-November or earlier, then the virus must have reached the UK by December which is why it was widespread here by February as confirmed by Icelandic scientists. This has now also been confirmed by researchers at King's College London and explains why many in the UK reported very unusual symptoms as early as December if not earlier

Jimny1.
I am very much inclined to believe this report.
As a past entertainer here , I have many friends who are entertainers here on the Costa Blanca.
From early December, right through to the end of January , lots of them were struck down with what they thought was flu .
Some had to cancel gigs because of this, while others struggled on .
The symptoms they were complaining about, matched Covid 19.
Although , at that time, very few of us knew about it .
It's my belief that the virus was prevalent from the back end of last year onwards .
What we have witnessed since March/ April , could well have been the 2nd wave ?

Yes there was a really bad flu before Christmas and an outbreak of pneumonia. This leads a lot of us to suspect that the sars 2 was what was circulating at that time in Ireland.

We live in the UK. Both my husband and I had the worse virus either of us have ever had around Christmas time. He was convinced back in March that we have already had it, I was sceptical but now I'm pretty sure he could be right.

Yes Wendy what we are referring to is the fact we are being told officially that it didn't reach the UK or Ireland until March 2020. Most people are skeptical of that and believe it was circulating here before Christmas.

Ahh I see, but I have always believed it was in our countries too earlier, saying it was later was just another way of covering up the late response in the UK.
