Great footage. It really shows how big the development is.

I'm sure many people are peed off at losing their view of the ' campo'

Those parking places must mean apartments.

Here's some more video and stills of the development from the beginning. Compiled by Rod in Torrevieja.

There are 12 of these so far

Has the road opened yet? I thought the roadworks were for 3 months, it's double that time now, of course this is Spain

If you mean the parking places at the 4:10ish, the plots running adjacent to the storm drainage/CV905 in the direction of La Siesta are all suppose to be for commercial use according to the plan. The large plot first seen with parking at the 4.10ish mark, at roughly the junction of the CV905 and Calle José Carreras, is the plot for the German DIY store Bauhaus.

I assume on large scale developments it is common for developers to start roughly in the middle and build outwards ?

Looking at the drone footage of the first residential development under construction, I sort of got the feeling (even if you had seen the plans for the complete La Hoya development) that if you bought there and moved in before the more wider residential development is well underway you might get a sense of openess, and get use to being surrounded by alot of space, only to then feel the world closing in on you as you are built around.

Yes the old saying when buying property in Torrevieja is that you can never guarantee your view, whether buying new or old build, as many have discovered.

Strange video, almost like AI!

As Bee pointed out, the roads are very grand. Why do they need dual-carriageways for some of the roads internal to the estate? And apparently very wide footpaths - are they envisaging crowds of people walking to and from the area?
