Re: Apple
It's not just Apple though is it Freddo,
I'm still using a pc that's 15 years old,
Still working fine
I've Never updated it, and its as fast as the day I bought it.
I think all windows updates inject obsolescence.

Re: Apple
Windows updates also inject patches to fix vulnerabilities to hacks and viruses. There's nothing wrong with using old PCs with older versions of Windows as long as you're aware that you're far more vulnerable to losing data and worse so you have to be more careful.Vino wrote: 08 Jan 2024 19:37 It's not just Apple though is it Freddo,

Re: Apple
That would be fine as long as you don't need to pass some kind of compliance to access a network. The moment that you need to access a network that requires you to have a certain set of compliance setup and update to a certain operating system/control then it will matter to you. You are a breach waiting to happen unless the system is air gapped which it unlikely.Vino wrote: 08 Jan 2024 19:37 It's not just Apple though is it Freddo,

Re: Apple
I use the old computer just to play one old game and write letters. Nothing that would benefit anyone if hacked.
I use my phone with a VPN and antivirus to do sensitive
Work.
So I'm not too worried.
