Channel 5 ?

#1

Post: # 35092Post jimny1 »

Hi
Even though i never used to watch it that much there was the odd programme i did like to
But i noticed a few weeks ago i can no longer receive channel 5 with my 1.9 sat dish on my set up
At least it is not on my 5th choice of channels , being bbc1, bbc2, itv, channel 4 and channel 5
Has it been taken off or moved to another frequency ?
TIA

I’m the same. When I rescan will I need to find a working C5 and move it up or will it reconfigure my existing C5? Hope that makes sense to others.

On my system you have to delete the old channel and then as you say move up the new one after the scan. There is a facility to edit the coordinates of an existing channel without moving it on some systems. You would bring up the channel from the Installation menu and type in the new coordinates.

I have so many missing channels I wonder if there is somewhere I can get advice.
For example. It’s on Satellite 33) Astra 2D 28.2E but I can see other satellites available. Can I try others?
There are some other settings and scans which I have no idea what they are. E.g. TP scan, TP edit, Auto Diseqc and at least i now know about blind scans. Is there a good website I can go to and learn more about these things?

Although you can see other Satellites you won't get any reception from them. Usually 28.2 and Eurobird are the ones you will get reception from. When you go into the Installation menu and click on any of those other satellites (try them you won't do any harm to your system) it will show you whether there is any reception from them. Diseq is a physical switch that people use if they have a couple of systems/boxes they use. You won't have that. I bought my freeview box from the people on the youtube link and they do a series of videos but if you search the make of your receiver you will probably get information on it. Lyngsat gives the frequencies for all the satellites.

You could contact Paul from TV Technology and he may be able to come and sort your system.

Thanks Bee. I got the set up from Paul originally. It seems to me that all my C5 related programmes have disappeared. I’ve been trying the blind scan with no luck. The channels show a signal, but no picture. It’s a mystery.
