These measures come into affect today and they are a must read for anyone that uses Mercadona, particularly if you normally pay with cash or shop with other people.

We went into Mercadona, Los Balcones this morning. Security guard there, we both went in, not stopped, and took our own gloves. Could not believe the amount of people NOT wearing gloves.....................!!!

Thank you for sharing your experience sueh21.

I think you have highlighted an issue that needs to be addressed sooner, rather than later. If supermarkets do not enforce their own guidelines from day one, people will simply continue with their usual shopping routine and continue to pose a risk to others. And if a supermarket chain issue guidelines they also need to be consistent in applying them across all of their stores.

I've just spoken to someone who went to Mercadona at Playa Flamenca this morning and their observations mirrored yours sueh21.

Whilst it is fantastic to say these two Mercadona stores are consistent in their approach, unfortunately they are being consistent for the wrong reason in not following and enforcing the guidelines that Mercadona Head Office have issued to the public.
