The Torrevieja City Council has suspended all activities organized in municipal cultural facilities, leisure centres and centres for the elderly where the expected attendance is greater than a third of the permitted capacity of the premises for the event.
Torrevieja and La Mata weekly markets are suspended.
Suspension of sporting events with the exception of training conducted indoors which is by definition held behind closed doors.
The suspension will last for a period of at least 2 weeks from the date of notification of the suspension (11 March 2020).
Controlled access and other hygienic security measures will be put in place at City Council administrative centres accessed by the public.
Finally, the City Council reiterates that in case of symptoms that could be associated with the coronavirus (fever, cough and feeling of shortness of breath) those affected should stay at home and call the number provided by the Ministry of Health 900 300 555.

Additional measures announced yesterday afternoon:
- All beaches in the Torrevieja municipality are closed
- All childrens play areas in parks and gardens will be sealed
- Establishments like bakeries with table and chair service are no longer allowed to provide that service but can still sell their food

- Restrict the access of users on urban buses by half
