Short Football Referees Dish Out More Red/Yellow Cards

Interesting article for once in The Sun newspaper. When you read the scientists findings for why short referees hand out more cards it does seem obvious.

The article seems to be highlighting male referees refereeing male only matches, but I would suspect this would also apply to female referees in female matches. Be interesting if there was a study into female referees refereeing a male game or vice versa, and whether there is any domination shown by the referee towards the opposite sex.

You could probably read to a certain extent the scientists findings across to other professions as well where an individual is small in stature but has authoritative powers behind them, such as the police force or traffic wardens.
