A couple of good websites listing houses for sale are kyero.com and thinkspain.com

You can filter by price, number of bedrooms, pool etc.

These were our starting place when we bought our property in Dream Hills.

Another good property website is www.idealista.com you can sign up for alerts from your chosen area. Idealista says there are over 7000 properties for sale in Torrevieja. Sounds like a lot of properties.

Check out the neighbors :o
We had a bad experience once,
seemed like a lovely couple but soon found out that they liked to think they ruled the roost on the urb,
forever spouting rules at us, running to the President over petty issues (wrong colour plant pots? )
Also, go to the area at night, what seems like a perfectly peaceful street in the daytime can become like
an entertainment strip at night!
Put a lock on your gates and install a doorbell on them, some folk just like to wander in uninvited just when you're about to
have dinner and feel snubbed if you don't invite them to stay and eat..
Finally, never believe a single thing the Spanish tell you, they make it up as they go along...
Apart from that, all good... 8-)

Last summer we bought a holiday home in Torrevieja. After a month of searching the internet, we found the property that met our expectations: a terraced house with no neighbors above or below, an outside terrace on the front with morning sun (wonderful shade in the hottest afternoon hours!), A private roof terrace in the afternoon / evening sun with mountain view, two bedrooms with one bathroom, an open plan kitchen diner and toilet and a communal palm tree garden and swimming pool to share with about 20 houses.Since we don't have a car: Located 15 minutes walk from the sea front, 10 minutes from the central bus station(airport transfer !), bars, restaurants, Consum, Mercadona and Aldi.
On the edge of the center / nueva torrevieja. Price range less than € 75,000 ...
Good luck !

You asked about La Siesta. It is a well-connected settled area. You have Carrefour and Habaneras ,the Cinema, the Bowling Alley and all the other big supermarket chains down the road. Lots of pubs and restaurants including McDonalds. The Waterpark in San Louis is nearby and San Louis has a very active expat community with a well-known bowls club. You also have walks tgrough the natural park with La Mata Lake. Across the CV905 is the greenway by Torrevieja Lake. A short drive away is the other big waterpark Aquapolis and alongside it is the Friday market. You would have to drive to the beach to either the town beaches or La Mata beaches on the other side. As you said there is also a bus into town.

Not sure if you're fixed up yet , Ricky , but I live in La Siesta .
It's a great place to be .. I can't speak highly enough of it .
I've been here in Torrevieja almost 20 years , and for the first 12 years , lived by the salt lake.
It was ok , until the swarms of mosquitoes arrived .
Also , as it's low lying , when the heavy rain came , it was a nightmare .
No such problems in La Siesta .
Our rain runs downhill , and floods everyone else.😆
