As well as not allowing conspiracy theory nutters to poison the forum, in house bickering and personal insults and abuse between members is stamped on dealt with promptly which makes this forum the ideal choice for prospective members to join, coupled with fact that this is primarily a Torrevieja forum and discussions in the main are about Torrevieja and indeed Spain.

Some may say that might limit our remit a bit but it lessens the chances of animosity discussing emotive subjects that have nothing whatsoever to do with Torrevieja and are designed to wind people up.

But we have nearly 200, members 23 of whom joined this year and considering that social media like Facebook and Twittter have made major inroads into local forums, I don't think we've done so bad in just a couple of years, and of course forums like TQ have been going since 2011 so have a head start on us.

But the best thing going for this forum is that it's all good all round one and all subjects are catered for in their relevant sections. You can have intellligent discussions on emotives issues like assisted dying or capital punishment with no fear of being ridiculed for having an opposing opinion. You can also ask for help and advice on a wealth of subjects.

Of our two main competitors, one is dead in the water having no comments posted in over a month and the other one is in meltdown because it's been deprived of the activities that nearly closed it down, so now they are directing all their bile, sh*t stirring and nastiness on each other. And of course that's the last place to ask advise or help on anything. Always has been and always will be.

On that note I will leave you with a picture of the work just started on the La Veleta roundabout in line with the Pink Flamingo one near the Harbenares.
If anyone has any idea what it is going to be, I'd be very interested... :D

I have been a member of various Spanish forums for almost 20 years. At the beginning when we first bought a property forums were a lifeline and a mine of information. We still have friends from that time.

We then bought another house in a different area and we used forums for narrowing down the best locations and the best shops and bars. Forums can be so useful.

This forum is the best in the area (IMHO) for finding out about Torrevieja and its environs. Besides useful info it is a friendly place without the backbiting, sniping and bullying you find on some other forums. Not that there is anything wrong with forums which concentrate on attacking themselves and others of course if that is what you want, but if you want info on Torrevieja you are better off on this forum.

Keep up the good work Carl.

Sat in the square in San Miguel last week and watched the fireworks and listened to a Police (Sting etc)tribute band, they were great and the whole evening was a reminder of why i moved here, warm balmy evenings, the pandemonium of a ridiculously busy spanish bar and spending times with friends,no stupid conspiracy theorists,no pompous knuckleheads, not a single idiot claiming Boris is doing his best, god we are so lucky.

Yes crummy, it's true that a certain type of forum will attract a certain type of person, that is the nature of forums.

I think we have got it just right with this one and I refer to my original post. ;)
