Wise query
Wise query
Good morning,
Can someone help me with a question I have about wise (were Transferwise).
I use them to make sterling transfers to my account with Sabadell and have just completed one today. Checking my account with Sabadell I noticed that they have put their quarterly fee up to 40 euros a month.
Can anyone tell me if it's possible to set direct debits up directly with wise to pay my Spanish bills and, if so, what account/card am I looking for to make this happen with them? As a non-resident am I able to have whatever the account would be with wise?
I think 160 euros a year for Sabadell to make a few automated payments on my behalf is a bit steep so if it is possible to transfer the direct debits to wise I will open that account and do so when I can finally get back to Spain.
Many thanks

Re: Wise query
Although I only use Wise to transfer money to my Spanish bank here if you log into your account you will see ' Acount' in the left hand column and if you click on that you will see ' Direct Debits'.
I suggest you click on that and see how you can set up a direct debit. There was no point in me trying it as don't intend setting one up.

Re: Wise query
Thanks for this, I've found the direct debit thing in with open a balance option. It seems I need to finish the setting up an account bit to get a swift/BIC and an IBAN before I can set up direct debits.
160 euros a year is 16 del dia's at Filton - much more pleasurable.

Re: Wise query
I was also thinking of changing all my transactions to wise as i only use them to transfer funds from my uk account to my spanish account at the moment. What is stopping me is how much will i be charged at the ATMs when i make a cash withdrawal ?
I also worry if i have a problem with anything and need someone to sort it out as i did when my account was hacked
I had to go into the branch to sort it out. i would not feel confident that a robot online or chat would help me as much

No, at Cafeteria Restaurante Filton - great del dia for 9.90. Today was mixed paella to start followed by baked fish.Brandyboy wrote: 14 May 2021 14:16At the Alingui no doubt.chrisz wrote: 14 May 2021 12:51 Thanks for this, I've found the direct debit thing in with open a balance option. I seem to remember many years ago going to forum meeting at a restaurant opposite Alinguis and thats when I first met Mrs Treaclesoldman and of course Treacle.
There where many other members there and I'pm afraid I've forgotten who they were, but I seem to recall that we all had a great time and we all got pissed. Happy days,
The restaurant used to have entertainment on at night and that was included with your meal and we've seen some good artistes on there like Richie Alexander and JJ Soulman and even my old mate Kevin Tyler.
The owner who's name escapes me yet again, sold up and bought Tilleys in Mar Azul.
