Critically low on storage space Firestick message

#1

Post: # 15556Post Bee »

My firestick has started giving a critically low on storage space message. I have done the usual of clearing cache on apps. I dont have any apps downloaded other than what was originally on it. Doesn't seem to matter what I do the message keeps appearing. I have looked on web and lots of people have the same problem but there doesn't deem to be a solution
It appears it happens after updates. Any thoughts or solutions.

Have you checked the storage space that is shown in settings "about device , storage ? you should have about 40% left on yours

How to Check Firestick / Fire TV Disk Space
From the Fire TV home screen, go to Settings. Go to Settings.
Then select Device. Select Device.
Now select About.
Then press the Down button on the Fire TV remote to select Storage.
On your screen, the Firestick's Internal Space is displayed.

Thanks Fred. I will try those solutions and report back when I can get near it as a grandchild has made it his own so I am not allowed to touch it :)

I had a look and from Settings I select My Fire TV and about and in Storage it says I have 418 of 5.28 GB available. It looks like the culprit is Asphalt 8 which the kids downloaded and is using 2.59GB.

still worth going into Downloader and delete all the files showing as you do not need the when the programs have been installed you should buy the Kids their own firestick but get the Firestick lite version 26 euros if you do make sure you tick the box where it says this is a gift that way it will not be registered in your name ,

I checked Downloader Fred and it doesn't have any files. It is empty. I will just tell grandkids no downloads of that size permitted.
Thanks again Fred

FAVOURITES
SETTINGS
HELP

IF YOU SCROLL TO LEFT AND HIGHLIGHT FILES THEN CLICK ON IT IF ANY FILES ARE THERE JUST RIGHT SCROLL TO THEM AND WHEN HIGHLIGHTED PRESS THE SELECT BUTTON ON REMOTE AND DELETE THEM
